CERVO Brain Research Center
The CERVO Research Centre of the Institut universitaire en santé mentale de Québec (IUSMQ), affiliated with Université Laval, occupies part of the Robert-Giffard complex, built in 1885 and expanded many times since. Spanning a total area of 5,780 m², the project unfolds in two phases.
Phase 1a consists of a three-storey extension connecting Pavilions S and F, creating a space for gathering, welcoming and knowledge sharing among researchers, specialists and patients. Phase 1b transforms the former laundry building (Pavilion S) into the CERVO academic research platform for mental health, equipped with a medical imaging clinic.
The extension features a public atrium that channels circulation between the two pavilions and serves as a multipurpose hall for a new auditorium. Its upper floors house the clinical units for personalized medicine.
