Laurent Mercure, a 2014 master's graduate in architecture from the Université de Montréal, distinguished himself through his leadership, recognized with the Alpha Rho Chi Medal. He joined NFOE in 2012 and contributed to a range of institutional, research laboratory, and technological facility projects. From 2017 to 2021, he led production teams at other Montreal firms on industrial and business facility projects across Canada. In 2021, he returned to NFOE as Practice, Quality and Innovation Director. He became a partner of the firm in 2024.

Supported by a cross-functional team, Laurent plays a central role in all of the firm's projects. Under his direction, the team implements standardized quality control processes, trains staff, and adapts building information modeling (BIM) to the requirements of each project, ensuring consistency across deliverables and the firm's operational excellence. As part of the leadership team, he leads strategic planning and continuous improvement initiatives. His PMP (project management), LSSGB (process improvement), and LEED (sustainability) certifications are assets for the firm and its partners.

Alongside his responsibilities at NFOE, Laurent sits on the professional practice oversight committee of the Ordre des architectes du Québec (OAQ), as well as on the boards of directors of the OAQ and the Regulatory Organizations of Architecture in Canada (ROAC).
