Principal Partner - Principal Designer

Maxime Pion is a Principal Partner at NFOE. Since joining in 2005 as a designer, he has contributed to and shaped the firm's design direction through standout projects. Today, he heads the design department. His thoughtful, composed temperament allows for sensitive management and attentive collaboration with project teams and clients. Whether for new construction or expansion, his architectural response respects the natural environment and built context. His ability to synthesize programmatic requirements leads to simple concepts that result in clear, distinctive, and contemporary architecture. He is committed to developing original, creative, and sustainable solutions that align with the project's budget.

Maxime has received numerous design awards, notably for the multi-award-winning Barclay School expansion (CSSDM), the Centre national intégré du manufacturier intelligent (Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières and Cégep de Drummondville), and the Thrombosis and Anticoagulation Centre of Excellence at the Jewish General Hospital. His recent work includes the Le Carrefour high school expansion, Medicago's APEX biotechnology complex, and the renovation of McGill University's Stewart Biology Building. Since 2018, he has also been a visiting professor at the Université de Montréal's School of Architecture.
