Science Hub: Innovation in Action at the Heart of Academic Excellence
Located on the Loyola campus in the Côte-des-Neiges–Notre-Dame-de-Grâce borough, the Carrefour des sciences appliquées expands Concordia University’s science building. Since December 2018, the complex has been home to several multidisciplinary research centers, including the Center for Cell Microscopy and Imaging, the Center for Biological Applications in Mass Spectrometry, and the Center for Nanoscience Research. This open and modern research and development space facilitates both the sustained growth of the university’s research infrastructure and the addition of specialized laboratories for the development of activities with high commercial and industrial potential, particularly in the fields of biomedicines, bioproducts, and nanomaterials. It also enables laboratory-based development projects to conduct pre-industrial production feasibility studies.
Spanning four floors and two basement levels with a total area of 8,700 m², the complex notably facilitates the recruitment of graduate students, enhances researchers’ ability to secure funding for their work, and strengthens infrastructure grants for state-of-the-art equipment.
